Facts

1. There is huge reduction in FoxPro development and acceptance.

2. C# or Java are great language in its own

3. But the world shall not forget the most successful database application development (dad!) language i.e. FoxPro

Question

Does Programming Languages die? retire?

Answer : waiting for your thoughts

Proposal

Can we start an ANTLR and DLR based project to allow FoxPro as language to run on .NET?

Road Map

No Native data access

No data bounded controls

No Form designer

No Report designer

No Class desginer

Nothing! but Just core FoxPro language

Here is basic list, Community can keep adding

1. Variable declaring and assigning

Local,Private,Public,Store,=

2.Procedure/function declaration with Param and return

3. Class declaration

4. SET CLASSLIB to ( or anything equal to "using" in c#)

5. NewObject(),AddObject(),CreateObject()... etc object declaration and assignings

6.Do while... enddo, for..endfor, for..next,for each... loop

7.IF else endif, try catch Finally endtry, do case endcase

8.Data Converstion

9.String Manipulation

I think this much is enough, then rest will automatically evolve!!!
